It was the evening of one of these early days in spring where everyone’s glad to come out of hibernation. Allison and her band members spent the day getting to know a bit more of Vienna, enjoying cakes, the sun and meeting Berlin based Bernardo aka Noisy Pig with whom they’d tour throughout Europe for the next weeks.
Allison Wolfe was born in Memphis, Tennessee and grew up in Olympia, Washington, the cradle of 90’s Rrriot Girl and later Ladyfest. Together with Molly Neuman she created the zine Girl Germs. Along with other zines such as Jigsaw, riot grrrl and Bikini Kill (Kathleen Hanna and Tobi Vail), Girl Germs provided the manifestos for the movement, her band Bratmobile among others the music. For the last years Allison’s band is Partyline DC.
We met her and Bernardo between soundcheck and gig at the Arena, coming up with an acoustic cover of something non-punk at all: Golden Ring.
