I was very much looking forward to meeting Laura. Her guitarplay and voice have accompanied me on my ways for quite some time. But before I fall into the praising choir for her albums and Seasons of Beasts - her latest release - in particular (and did you hear about the oldest cemetery in Portland where she lived during....) let me tell you a bit about that evening. A festival's night. In between soundcheck, food, gig and all these busy people, we meet, being two of them. I am reminded of the crucial and at times much too little appreciated aspect of this project once more when we leave the busy and crowded venue and I walk with her around some corners. We do not talk much, we mostly smile, concentrate on getting ready, ready to get drunk on melodies and words and be short on time. It is cold outside. Only few people pass by.
