On our way from one end of the city to the other to pick up enchanting David vulgo (read aka) Sir Tralala and his guitar, my phone rings „Should we do this today?“ Good question. The sky turns a bright summer afternoon dark and darker, the wind gets itself some storm quality and the hot and humid air turns cool. We meet, make a date for another shoot and go for a coffee around the corner. An hour and some Melange later, we had laughed, watched some reality tv and did not try the cevapcici. The sky opened up again - at least for a while - and we decide to make our way southwards along the Danube to one of the biggest harbours of Vienna.

The rain started again, slow and steady. The song Sir Tralala began to play couldn’t be more suiting to that barren afternoon at the harbour with all the trucks and men, the wet cold and the ships leaving toward the black sea. I feel his voice as well - Pirate Jenny of The Three Penny Opera by Brecht and Weill, a song that is slowly approaching its hundredth anniversary.

The only guest to Davids imperturbable engagement was a duck that made its way all through the harbour’s dock while he was singing about that quiet of death and the black freighter disappearing out to sea.
